According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr have moved into position. The Riyadh club, already under the global spotlight thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo, are looking for a new first-choice goalkeeper to replace Bento and see Maignan as a marquee solution.

Saudi money changes the equation. Milan already pay Maignan at the very top end of their wage structure, yet they would struggle to match the type of financial package Al-Nassr could put on the table if negotiations escalate. For a player who is already one of the club’s highest earners, that matters.

The interest is not described as speculative. Reports indicate Al-Nassr are closely tracking every development while Maignan weighs up his next move. The contrast with last summer is stark. Back then, he turned down a substantial offer from Chelsea, convinced by Allegri’s presence and the stability of the existing management.

The timing of Maignan’s latest decision has only fuelled the speculation. He and teammate Adrien Rabiot have both postponed their return to pre-season at Milanello, pushing it back from August 12 to August 16.
