Milan Pursue Zakaria El Ouahdi to Strengthen Defence

Milan have turned their attention to Morocco international Zakaria El Ouahdi as they look to reshape the right side of their defence this summer.

Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Rossoneri are actively studying a move for the Genk full-back, identified as a leading candidate to replace Atekami, who is close to completing a switch to Olympique Lyon.

El Ouahdi, born in 2001, has already drawn strong interest elsewhere in Europe. PSV Eindhoven tracked him earlier in the window, with several reports in Belgium and the Netherlands highlighting coach Peter Bosz’s desire to bring him to the Eredivisie.

Genk, though, are not blinking. The Belgian club value the Moroccan between 13 and 15 million euros and are standing firm on that price. For now, they show no willingness to soften their stance or push the player towards the exit.

Milan have not yet submitted an official bid, but the intent is clear: El Ouahdi is firmly on their list, and the right-back position is a priority area to address before the window closes.

Should a deal be struck, the defender would become the second major Genk talent to make a high-profile move this summer. Greek prospect Konstantinos Karetsas has already left for Borussia Dortmund in a transfer worth around 35 million euros, underlining once again how Genk’s production line keeps feeding Europe’s elite.
