Mohamed Salah Convicted for Failing to Identify Driver

Mohamed Salah has been convicted in his absence by Warrington Magistrates’ Court after failing to identify the driver of a luxury electric Rolls-Royce caught speeding in Cheshire.

The Trabzonspor forward, 34, did not tell police who was behind the wheel of a Rolls-Royce Spectre worth more than €466,000 when a mobile speed camera picked up the offence in March 2026, according to The Sun. That silence proved decisive. Prosecutors charged him with failing to identify the driver responsible.

Magistrates delivered their verdict in August 2026. Salah received a six‑month driving ban and a fine of €769.

The court, The Sun reported, had twice summoned Salah to appear, sending notices to his mansion valued at more than €5 million. He did not attend. The case went ahead without him, and the bench ruled on the evidence in front of them.

It is not the first time the Egyptian forward has faced questions over his conduct on the road. In 2022, police caught him driving a Ferrari F8 Tributo at excessive speed, an offence that brought a fine and three penalty points on his licence.

Four years earlier, in 2018, he was filmed using a mobile phone while driving near Anfield.

For one of the game’s most recognisable figures, his record behind the wheel is now drawing almost as much scrutiny as his work in front of goal.
