Napoli Pursue Guiu from Chelsea: €16 Million Offer Looms

Napoli are pushing hard to pry Guiu away from Chelsea, with the young Spaniard now sitting at the top of their shopping list as the transfer window ticks into its final days.

Sky Sport Italia report that the Partenopei are readying a permanent offer in the region of €15–16 million, bolstered by performance-related bonuses, to convince Chelsea to part with the striker. It is a decisive move from a club determined to reshape its frontline and sharpen its edge in the race for European places.

The pursuit is anything but casual. Inside the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, decision-makers see the former La Masia forward as a long-term piece of their attacking puzzle, someone who can contribute immediately while growing into a central figure over the coming seasons.

Guiu only arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2024, but his Premier League adventure has stalled almost as soon as it began. Buried in a swollen squad and fighting for minutes, he has slipped into what has been described as a kind of purgatory in west London, too highly rated to ignore yet not trusted enough to play regularly.

For Chelsea, the situation cuts both ways. Keeping a promising prospect fits the club’s sporting vision. Balancing the books does not. The London side are under clear pressure to trim a bloated first-team group and raise funds to stay on the right side of financial regulations. Their internal valuation initially hovered closer to £25 million, but Napoli’s persistence, coupled with the player’s desire for game time, is dragging the negotiations towards a middle ground.

As the deadline looms, talks are expected to accelerate, with both clubs keen to avoid a late scramble.

Sevilla have tracked Guiu closely throughout the summer. The Andalusian club view him as an ideal addition after losing several senior forwards, including Akor Adams and Alexis Sanchez, and had initially targeted a loan move to complement new signing Robbie Ure. The plan was to add depth without overextending financially. Napoli’s willingness to invest heavily threatens to blow that strategy apart, potentially pushing Sevilla out of contention.

Behind the scenes, Napoli have not put all their eggs in one basket. Their recruitment team has worked through a list of alternatives, many of them established Premier League names, underlining the scale of their ambition in this rebuild. Earlier in the window, enquiries were made for Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus and Manchester United’s recent arrival Joshua Zirkzee, though both options were always likely to be far more complicated and expensive to pull off.

Right now, all roads lead back to Guiu. The question is whether Chelsea blink before the window slams shut, or whether a teenager stuck on the fringes of Stamford Bridge becomes the centrepiece of Napoli’s new attack.
