Nottingham Forest Sign Daniel Munoz from Crystal Palace

Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Daniel Munoz from Crystal Palace in a deal worth up to £22m, handing Oliver Glasner a familiar and trusted weapon on the right flank.

The Colombia international arrives at the City Ground on a three-year contract with an option for a fourth, reuniting with Glasner after their successful spell together at Selhurst Park. Forest move for a 30-year-old who has already proved himself in English football and played a central role in Palace’s Conference League and FA Cup triumphs.

Palace, meanwhile, had already prepared for this moment. The London club opened the door to Munoz’s departure after signing Anan Khalaili from Union Saint-Gilloise, banking a healthy profit on a player they brought in from Genk for £8.5m in January 2024.

No Henderson reunion – for now

Talk of a South London exodus to the Midlands stops with Munoz. Palace have no intention of sending any more senior players to Forest before the window shuts.

Forest registered their interest in Palace captain Dean Henderson last week, testing the waters over a move for the goalkeeper. The answer was emphatic. Henderson will not be allowed to leave before the deadline, with Palace determined to back new head coach Pierre Sage as he shapes his first squad.

Forest eye forward reinforcements

Munoz may not be Forest’s final piece of business.

The club are considering a late push for Newcastle forward Jacob Murphy as they look to bolster their attacking options after Omari Hutchinson’s move to AC Milan. Newcastle have not yet received a formal bid, but Forest’s interest earlier in the window is understood to have been genuine, with Everton also monitoring the situation.

Newcastle have their own attacking rebuild to manage. They are exploring moves for Lille’s Matias Fernandes Pardo and Stuttgart’s Bilal El Khannouss as they refresh their forward line.

One forward who could be heading out of the City Ground is Arnaud Kalimuendo. Eintracht Frankfurt are in talks to re-sign the striker on loan after his spell there in the second half of last season. The German side want another loan, potentially with an option to buy. Kalimuendo was left out of Forest’s matchday 18 for the 2-2 draw at Liverpool on Saturday, a decision that underlined the uncertainty around his future.

Forest have already hit a dead end in one attacking chase. A proposed move for Harrison Armstrong from Everton has collapsed, with the Everton board unanimously deciding not to sell after receiving Forest’s approach.

Palace’s late-window puzzle

While Munoz departs, Palace are far from done in the market.

They are close to an agreement with Atalanta to bring Honest Ahanor to Selhurst Park on a season-long loan. The plan is clear: Ahanor would spend the campaign with Palace before joining Chelsea permanently next summer. Chelsea have been in talks with Atalanta over a permanent deal worth around £40m, but cannot loan him directly to Palace because Axel Disasi is already on loan there.

On the outgoing side, Ismaila Sarr’s situation is simmering. The Senegal international wants to leave before the deadline, yet Palace insist he is not for sale and point to a contract that runs until 2029. Liverpool made an approach for Sarr in the past week as they weigh up several wide options, with Yankuba Minteh at Brighton also under consideration.

Sarr has missed Palace’s first two games of the season through injury, but his name still hangs over the final days of the window.

For Forest, the story is different. Munoz is through the door, Murphy is on the radar, Kalimuendo could be on his way, and the clock ticks towards Tuesday’s 11pm deadline. How bold will they be in the final hours?
