Nottingham Forest Sign Liam Delap for Record Fee

Nottingham Forest have smashed their transfer record to land Liam Delap from Chelsea in a deal that could rise to £50m.

Forest have agreed a package understood to be worth at least £45m, with performance-related add-ons taking the total fee to the £50m mark. The striker is due to undergo a medical on Wednesday as the move edges towards completion.

The 21-year-old had attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including Everton, but Forest have won the race for his signature and moved decisively to close the deal.

Chelsea only brought Delap in last summer, paying £30m to sign him from Ipswich Town and setting a valuation of around £50m heading into this window. After a campaign that brought two goals in 41 appearances, they have still banked a £15m profit.

For Forest, this is a statement swing in the market. Their previous record signing was Omari Hutchison, who arrived from Ipswich Town for £37.5m in August 2025. Delap now blows that figure away.
