Chema Aragon, Sporting Director of Racing Santander, confirmed how near Arsenal came to finalizing the transfer. He explained that the Premier League club led the race almost until the window closed. “It looked like it was done with Arsenal, then we entered with a loan offer,” Aragon said. “Yesterday everything changed, and what seemed like a loan became a shared ownership agreement.”

He compared Garcia to Raul Gonzalez Blanco, praising his natural goal-scoring ability and killer instinct. With Andres Martin injured, securing Garcia was a priority for Santander. “We didn’t hesitate when the chance arose to sign him,” added Aragon.
