Paris FC have set their sights on Juventus forward Jonathan David as they look to rebuild their attack after a turbulent summer, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Canada international, 26, arrived in Turin from Lille OSC on a free transfer last year but never truly settled. Under Luciano Spalletti, his opportunities have shrunk, and the Italian coach is now ready to move him on, the report states.

That has opened a door in Paris.

Liam Rosenior has already overseen significant change up front. Paris FC cashed in on Willem Geubbels earlier in the window and moved quickly to bring in Lassine Sinayoko as a replacement. The plan appeared clear enough—until Ciro Immobile stunned the dressing room.

The veteran striker, expected to go again for at least one more season, instead announced his imminent retirement to his Paris FC teammates last month. The decision ripped a hole in Rosenior’s attacking plans and left the club scrambling for another proven option in the final third.

David fits that profile. A forward with European pedigree and age on his side, he has now emerged as a concrete target for Les Parisiens as they search for extra firepower to complement Sinayoko.

The path to his signature, though, is anything but straightforward.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Atlético Madrid are also in the race, providing serious competition for Paris FC. With Juventus keen to offload and David needing a fresh start, the battle for his signature could quickly become one of the more intriguing attacking moves of the window.
