Premier League Clubs’ Net Spend in Summer 2026 Transfer Window

The summer transfer window for the 2026 Premier League season is already open and clubs have wasted no time investing heavily. Over £1 billion has been spent by teams with weeks remaining before the window closes.

Tottenham Hotspur lead the spending charts, shelling out nearly £230 million as they try to avoid relegation troubles. Their big-name signings include Sandro Tonali for £92.5 million, Mateus Fernandes at £85 million, and Jan Paul van Hecke costing £52 million, alongside some free transfers. They have also made moves that weaken other Premier League sides.

Yet, the largest single transfer so far belongs to Manchester City, who paid Nottingham Forest £116 million for Elliot Anderson, a standout at the World Cup for England.

Brighton and Hove Albion have also surpassed £100 million in spending, including what was essentially a centre-back swap with Tottenham: selling Van Hecke for £52 million and buying Luka Vuskovic from Spurs for £50 million.

On the selling side, Chelsea joins Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United in generating over £100 million in sales. Chelsea sold Marc Cucurella and Andrey Santos for fees above £50 million each, with Santos moving to Manchester United.
