San Diego FC Sign Veteran Striker Cedric to Boost Attack

San Diego FC have moved to sharpen their cutting edge in front of goal, unveiling veteran striker Cedric as the latest addition to their attack.

Sporting director Tyler Heaps, speaking in the club’s official announcement, did not hold back in his assessment of the signing.

“Cedric brings an incredible level of experience and proven quality to San Diego FC,” Heaps said, framing the move as a statement of intent rather than a routine piece of business.

Heaps highlighted a career built at the sharp end of elite football. “He has built an outstanding career competing at the highest levels in Europe and internationally, and his ability to consistently find the back of the net has been a defining part of his game. He understands what it takes to perform on the biggest stages and brings a winning mentality that will be extremely valuable to our group.”

The numbers back him up. Since breaking through at Sochaux, the Congolese forward has racked up 191 goals and 49 assists in 492 club appearances, a body of work compiled across major stops at Villarreal, Marseille, Olympiacos, and Galatasaray. He has been just as important for DR Congo, scoring 21 times in 72 caps and appearing at four Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.

For a club still building its identity, that kind of résumé matters.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Cedric and his family to San Diego and look forward to seeing him make his mark with our club,” Heaps added, underlining the expectation that this is a signing to shift the level of the entire frontline.

Cedric now drops into an attacking unit already loaded with talent. Anders Dreyer, Marcus Ingvartsen, and fellow 2026 World Cup forward Elias Achouri give San Diego FC a varied, dangerous set of options in the final third.
