Serhou Guirassy: Milestone of 100 Games for Dortmund

Serhou Guirassy barely knew what he had just done.

"I'm very, very happy to have played a hundred games for Dortmund – I didn't even realize that," said the 30-year-old forward, still catching his breath after another decisive night in Black & Yellow.

He arrived from VfB Stuttgart in the summer of 2024. Just over two years later, he has already crashed through the 100-appearance mark for BVB. That volume alone tells a story: a striker who is always available, always in the firing line, rarely missing, rarely resting.

The numbers behind it are even more ruthless. In the 3-2 home win against Villarreal CF, Guirassy struck twice, taking his tally to 63 and then 64 goals in a Dortmund shirt. Two finishes, same outcome: the net bulging, the Südtribüne roaring, and another milestone quietly falling.

Those 64 goals in 100 competitive matches place him in elite company. Only Erling Haaland has ever started faster in front of goal for the club in the modern era, with a staggering 86 goals in 89 competitive appearances for Borussia Dortmund. That is the benchmark, the freakish standard. Guirassy is the one now chasing it.

History offers another comparison. Lothar Emmerich, one of the greats of the 1960s, also hit 64 goals in his first 100 Bundesliga matches for Borussia Dortmund. Guirassy has now matched that figure for total competitive games, underlining just how quickly he has written himself into the club’s record books.

And on European nights, only one name still stands between him and the very top of the club’s Champions League charts: Marco Reus.
