St Anthony’s Boys High School, Kitale, has sent another of its brightest prospects across the Atlantic. Midfield talent Thomas Omburi Ribbery has secured a coveted football scholarship to the Soccer Institute at Montverde Academy in Florida, marking a major leap in his young career.

Omburi has already left Kenya to link up with the elite programme in Montverde, where he will blend intensive football training with his academic studies. For a player who dictated games in school colours, it is a natural next step – but a huge one all the same.

A creative, composed presence in the middle of the park, Omburi became one of St Anthony’s key figures, regularly pulling strings and shaping matches with his vision and technical quality. Coaches and opponents alike saw a midfielder who could slow a game down, speed it up, and find passes others simply did not see.

Now he gets the chance to test that skill set in one of the most competitive youth football environments in the world.
