Tottenham Negotiates Double Deal for Savinho and Marmoush
Tottenham are pushing ahead with an ambitious double move for Manchester City forwards Savinho and Omar Marmoush, with negotiations described as progressing between the clubs.
No deal is in place yet, but discussions are active and advancing, according to sources spoken to by BBC Sport.
Savinho Ready to Move On
Spurs’ pursuit of Savinho is not new. Their interest stretches back to 2025, when the Brazilian winger chose to stay at Etihad Stadium rather than force a move.
That decision has not paid off in terms of game time. The 22-year-old managed only seven Premier League starts last season and is now prepared to leave in search of a more prominent role.
Savinho joined City from French side Troyes in 2024 for £30m, arriving as one of the most highly regarded young wide players in Europe. A year on, he finds himself on the fringes and open to a fresh start.
Marmoush Also on Spurs’ Radar
Tottenham are not stopping there. They are also working on a deal for Omar Marmoush, who cost City £59m when he arrived from Frankfurt in 2025.
The Egypt international slipped down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola during the 2025-26 campaign, but still produced a solid return: eight goals in 36 appearances in all competitions.
He may not have been a regular starter, yet his output and versatility keep him attractive to clubs looking for attacking depth. Spurs see him as part of a broader rebuild of their forward line.
City’s exact valuation of the pair has not been made public, but given their initial outlay and both players’ ages, the Premier League champions expect to bank a significant profit if they sanction exits.
De Zerbi Demands More Firepower
Roberto De Zerbi has already ripped up and reworked Tottenham’s midfield this summer. Mateus Fernandes has arrived from West Ham United and Sandro Tonali from Newcastle in a combined deal worth £185m.
The message from the Italian coach has been consistent: the midfield is only part of the solution.
Spurs finished 17th in the Premier League last season and scored just 48 goals in 38 games. Those numbers have framed everything they are doing in this window. De Zerbi wants more goals, more pace, more threat.
Savinho offers direct running and one-on-one ability from wide areas. Marmoush brings movement, work-rate and a knack for finding space. Together, they would reshape the attacking options at De Zerbi’s disposal.
Gakpo Interest Complicates the Picture
Tottenham’s recruitment team have also kept a close eye on Cody Gakpo. The Liverpool forward remains on their list, but the financial reality is starting to bite.
It is unclear whether Spurs could realistically afford to sign Gakpo on top of potential deals for both Savinho and Marmoush. Any move for the Netherlands international would likely depend on outgoings or a change in the structure of proposed transfers.
For now, the double raid on City is the live story.
City Continue Their Summer Overhaul
Manchester City, meanwhile, are deep into a summer of significant change.
They have already allowed captain Rodri to leave, with midfielder Tijjani Reijnders and second-choice goalkeeper James Trafford also departing. Letting Savinho and Marmoush go would underline the scale of the reshaping under Guardiola and the club’s hierarchy.
City are not under pressure to sell, but with profit on both forwards expected and a squad already stacked with attacking options, they are listening.
Tottenham, desperate to climb away from the wrong end of the table and inject goals into a blunt attack, are trying to take full advantage.
