Tottenham Reacts Swiftly After Brentford Defeat

Tottenham did not wait long to react to their bruising Premier League start. Less than 24 hours after a 3-0 defeat away to Brentford, the club have moved aggressively in the market and are closing in on another major attacking signing from Manchester City.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs and City have reached a full agreement for Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush in a deal worth €60 million. The forward, who previously played for Frankfurt, is expected in London on Monday to undergo his medical and put pen to paper on his contract.

The move comes as part of a sudden attacking overhaul. Tottenham are already set to bring in Savinho from City for a fee of around €100 million, and Marmoush’s arrival would add a second City forward to the squad in quick succession.

One heavy defeat has jolted Spurs into action. The response, in the form of a combined €160 million outlay on two forwards, suggests the club intend to make sure Brentford was a warning shot, not a blueprint for their season.
