Tottenham Reject Everton's Bid for Richarlison

Tottenham have turned down an approach from Everton for Richarlison, with the London club holding firm on their valuation of the Brazilian forward.

Richarlison is understood to be keen on a return to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but Spurs believe Everton’s opening bid falls short of the figure they want. Tottenham are thought to be looking for at least £35 million before they even consider doing business.

The 29-year-old knows Merseyside well. He spent four seasons with Everton, becoming a crowd favourite, before leaving in 2022 when Tottenham paid around £60m to bring him to north London. Now, two years on, the possibility of a reunion is back on the table.

For the moment, Richarlison remains involved at Tottenham. He has featured regularly in pre-season under Roberto De Zerbi, but the landscape could change quickly. De Zerbi is targeting Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo and Manchester City winger Savinho, and if both arrive, the Brazilian’s place in the pecking order would come under serious threat.

That potential squeeze in attacking roles has only strengthened the noise around a return to Everton. David Moyes wants fresh firepower this summer, and Richarlison’s name has never been far from the conversation. His best spells in English football came in blue, and the idea of rekindling that partnership clearly appeals on both sides.

The obstacle is money. Everton will have to meet Tottenham’s demands if they want any realistic chance of getting the deal done. Spurs have already shown this summer that they will not be pushed into cut‑price sales.

Everton recently tried to prise Djed Spence from Tottenham as well. They put £25m on the table for the England international, only to see Inter Milan step in with a higher offer. Spence moved to Italy in a £30m deal, with Spurs inserting a 10 per cent sell‑on clause into the agreement. It was another reminder that Tottenham intend to drive a hard bargain.

The same stance now applies to Richarlison. Everton must find the funds or risk watching another target slip away, especially with other clubs monitoring the Brazilian’s situation and ready to move if the door opens.
