Salah’s next move still open – but not for everyone

Mohamed Salah’s agent, Remy Abbas, has lifted the lid slightly on the Liverpool legend’s next step after his Anfield exit, and it was revealing in its restraint.

“We still do not know where Mohamed will play next season but we may know very soon,” he said, before making one thing crystal clear: they will not entertain offers just to stir headlines. “It is not our style to have discussions with clubs that Mohamed wouldn't want to play for, just for the sake of noise.”

The message is sharp. Salah’s camp is in no rush to dance through every open door. Suitors will come, money will talk, but only a select few will even make it to the table.

Rashford turns down exits – and big money

Marcus Rashford has had offers. Several of them. Some, according to The Athletic, would have paid him more than his current Manchester United deal.

He said no.

The forward, contracted at Old Trafford until the summer of 2028, has rejected a number of proposals to leave this summer, despite a difficult spell in his United career. He has not played for the club since 2024, a stark statistic for a player once seen as the face of the team’s future.

Yet he stays. Whether it is loyalty, belief he can still be central to the project, or a lack of the right footballing fit, Rashford has opted to fight for his place rather than cash in elsewhere.

Liverpool’s full-back search leads to Djed Spence

Liverpool’s rebuild continues to take shape, and one area is clearly under review: full-back.

According to Anfield Watch, Djed Spence has been added to their list of potential summer targets. The defender, who has caught the eye with England at the World Cup, is under consideration as the club look to bring in another option ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

Spence has also been linked with Everton, which adds a familiar Merseyside edge to the chase. If Liverpool decide he’s the right fit, they may have to move decisively to keep him out of their rivals’ hands.

Joao Gomes closing in on Aston Villa switch

At Wolves, one of their key midfielders is on the brink of a move.

Joao Gomes is set to undergo a medical at Aston Villa, with ESPN reporting that a deal worth around £34m has been agreed between the clubs. The Brazilian has already left Wolves’ training camp in Portugal to finalise the transfer.

Villa, already building a squad capable of mixing it with the Premier League’s top tier, look ready to add another energetic, technically sharp midfielder to Unai Emery’s armoury.

Ipswich push for Fatawu as Leicester brace for exit

Ipswich Town are not easing themselves gently into life after promotion.

The Telegraph reports that the newly-promoted side have made an approach for Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu. The Ghanaian, who has shown flashes of real quality, is widely expected to leave the King Power Stadium following Leicester’s relegation to League One.

Ipswich see an opportunity. Leicester, facing the financial and sporting reality of a drop to the third tier, may have little choice but to cash in.

United’s Rashford talks with Barcelona – and Marc Bernal twist

Behind the scenes at Manchester United, Rashford’s name has not only attracted offers from elsewhere. It has also featured in some bold internal proposals.

Mundo Deportivo claim United suggested signing Barcelona midfielder Marc Bernal as part of a potential swap deal involving Rashford. The forward was widely expected, at one stage, to join the Catalan giants on a permanent basis.

Barcelona chose another path. They moved for Anthony Gordon instead, and with Rashford’s release clause now expired, any future transfer would have to be negotiated directly with United, on United’s terms.

Liverpool turn to Bournemouth’s Rayan amid soaring prices

On the wings, Liverpool are having to think creatively.

TEAMtalk report that the club are weighing up a move for Bournemouth winger Rayan as an alternative to two far more expensive targets: Bradley Barcola and Michael Olise.

PSG are said to want £128m for Barcola. Bayern Munich value Olise at around £170m, and the player has reportedly asked to leave. Those numbers belong in a different financial universe.

So Liverpool are scanning the next bracket down. Rayan is one of several names on their list, a more realistic option in a market that has lost all sense of proportion at the very top.

Sander Berge on United’s radar

The churn at Manchester United is not slowing.

TEAMtalk report that the club are internally discussing a move for Fulham midfielder Sander Berge, viewing him as one of their key targets for this window. If they push ahead, he would become their fifth signing of the summer, following Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, Karl Darlow and Cristian Orozco.

Berge would add height, control and Premier League know-how to a midfield that has lacked balance for too long.
