Victor Osimhen Addresses Arsenal Transfer Rumors

Victor Osimhen kept his feet planted firmly in the present, even as the questions dragged him towards north London.

Pressed on growing links with Arsenal after the final whistle, the Nigeria international refused to fan the flames, but he did not exactly pour water on them either.

"There are always rumours during the transfer windows. I’ll focus on my job. I’m focused on my work. We’ll see and think about what comes next then," he said, batting away the speculation with a calm, rehearsed ease that still left room for intrigue.

Arsenal have reportedly explored the possibility of bringing him to the Emirates, with his name raised during talks over Gabriel Martinelli and teenage prospect Ethan Nwaneri. What Osimhen did stress, unequivocally, was what happens if he stays. The forward leaned into the challenge facing Galatasaray this season and framed the latest setback as a jolt the squad badly needed.

"We have to give everything on the pitch. Our fans give us incredible energy, they always support us. We need to reciprocate," he insisted, underlining a basic pact between team and terrace that Galatasaray failed to honour for long enough in their latest outing.

The clock is ticking towards the Champions League league phase, and Osimhen knows the margin for error is shrinking.

"We need to gain momentum before the Champions League. We need to fight very well from the very first match," he added, already looking beyond the domestic stutter to Europe’s biggest stage.

That sense of urgency is not just about goals. Galatasaray’s defensive issues were exposed again, and Okan Buruk has a week to tighten the back line before the next league fixture. Cohesion, organisation, concentration – all of it has to sharpen quickly if this campaign is to resemble the one supporters imagined in August.

The transfer window, though, casts its own shadow. Arsenal’s interest hangs in the air, and every Osimhen run, every finish, every glance to the bench will be viewed through that prism until the market shuts.
