Victor Osimhen’s name has been circling around the Premier League for years. Now, with former Manchester United strikers lining up to endorse him, the noise is getting harder to ignore.

Premier League scouts watched closely. They kept watching.

English giants keep circling

United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea – all have been linked, all have weighed up moves. None have pulled the trigger.

While the Premier League’s powerhouses debated, Osimhen moved again. This time to Turkey, where he now leads the line for Galatasaray. The goals have not slowed. Far from it. He has rattled in 65 goals in just 78 appearances, a staggering return that underlines just how comfortably he adapts to new environments and expectations.

Pace. Power. A ruthless edge in front of goal. The attributes that tempt England’s elite are obvious.

Cole: ‘He scores goals. Everywhere.’

Ask a man who knows exactly what it takes to be a Manchester United No.9, and the answer is blunt.

Andrew Cole, the 1999 Treble winner, sees a forward built for the Premier League. Speaking to GOAL in association with Unibet online casino, Cole was asked whether Osimhen has the tools to thrive in England.

“He does. He scores goals. He scored goals in Italy and he's scoring goals in Turkey as well,” Cole said.

Then came the caveat. Transfers at this level are never simple.

“But, you know, it depends. There's many different factors in signing a player from a respective country. It's not all about just the salary or the transfer fee. There could be many different things that go on. If he does come to the Premier League, which I think he will be very good in the Premier League, you never know who he'll go to.”

That uncertainty hangs over every big move. The interest is clear. The fit, the finances, the timing – those are the variables.

United legends push for a move

Inside United’s fanbase, the debate has been raging for months: what does this team actually need most? For Patrice Evra, the answer is simple.

“A striker, someone who scores a goal,” he told GOAL when asked what should be at the top of the Old Trafford wishlist. “I think that's what I'm looking at. That's why for me, Osimhen is the best. He’s a perfect example.”

Evra is not alone. Louis Saha, another former United forward who understands the scrutiny that comes with the shirt, has long championed Osimhen as the ideal signing.

“I really like Victor Osimhen. He's definitely got the character, he's got the quality,” Saha said of the Nigeria international. “He’s also got good European pedigree: he was a success in France, he was a champion in Italy with Napoli and he’s gone to Turkey with Galatasaray and been brilliant, a move that he probably didn't want, let's be honest.”

That line matters. Saha is under no illusion that a switch to Turkey was Osimhen’s dream destination, yet the striker has responded in the only way he knows: by scoring at every level.

“He’s scored goals at every level. He’s got Champions League experience, and further more, he’s got the type of personality and charisma that this United squad could really benefit from,” Saha added.

Then came the strongest endorsement of all.

“I think he would be a transformational signing for Manchester United. If you think about the pressure that he was under at Napoli, firing the club to its first title in 33 years, then he’s the perfect man to lead the line for Manchester United. I think he would have a huge impact at United. I would love to see the club hierarchy move for him, I think he is exactly what we need.”

The perfect storm – or another missed chance?

Osimhen’s CV is no longer a projection of potential. It is a catalogue of proof. Belgium. France. Italy. Turkey. Goals, titles, Champions League nights, and a temperament that seems to sharpen under pressure.

United, for their part, remain in search of a reliable, imposing centre-forward to carry their attack through the next phase of their rebuild. Their former strikers are spelling out the solution in capital letters.

The question now is not whether Victor Osimhen is ready for the Premier League. It is whether one of England’s giants, and perhaps Manchester United most of all, are finally ready to act.
