Women’s Super League Sets Trading Periods for 2026/27 Season
The Women’s Super League has ring‑fenced its trading periods for the 2026/27 campaign, laying out a clear roadmap for clubs planning their next rebuild.
Summer Window
The summer window will spark into life on Tuesday, June 16, with sides given until 11pm (UK time) on Thursday, September 3 to get their business over the line. That three‑month stretch will again become the prime battleground for major squad surgery and long-term planning.
Winter Window
Attention will then swing to the mid-season market. The winter window opens on Monday, January 4, 2027 and runs through to 11pm on Thursday, February 4, offering clubs a crucial four-week spell to fix problems, cover injuries or seize late opportunities in the title race and relegation fight.
Last summer underlined how decisive these windows can be. Chloe Kelly, Taylor Hinds, Anneke Borbe and Olivia Smith all arrived in the summer, reshaping the squad before Smilla Holmberg was added in January and Barbora Votikova came in on loan to bolster options further.
Those dates are now set. The next challenge for recruitment teams across the league is simple: use them well.
