World Cup Day 19 Preview: Brazil Battles Japan, Netherlands Meets Morocco

World Cup Day 19 Preview

Monday brings three knockout stage matches that promise plenty of action and drama as the 2026 World Cup progresses.

Brazil vs. Japan

Date & Time: Monday, June 29 | 1 p.m. ETLocation: HoustonTV: FoxOdds: Brazil -320

Brazil’s World Cup legacy is unmatched, with five titles and appearances in every tournament since its inception. Yet, recent tournaments have seen them fall short of expectations. This year, they face a tough test against Japan, whose defense has proven resilient. Despite two draws in the group stage, Japan conceded only three goals in three games.

The Brazilian side holds a slight advantage, boasting more goals scored and just two allowed defensively so far. Vinicius Jr. remains a standout, tied for third in the Golden Boot race after scoring in all group matches.

Germany vs. Paraguay

Date & Time: Monday, June 29 | 4:30 p.m. ETLocation: BostonTV: FoxOdds: Germany -750

This match looks to be the most one-sided of the day. Paraguay scraped into the knockouts thanks to a 1-0 victory over Türkiye, despite playing much of the second half with ten men.

Germany arrives after a surprising defeat to Ecuador, though they had impressive earlier wins including a 7-1 rout of Curaçao and a 2-1 win over Ivory Coast. One player to watch is super sub Deniz Undav, who hasn’t started but leads the team in scoring. In just under 90 minutes across three matches, the 29-year-old striker has netted three goals and added two assists, making an unexpected bid for the Golden Boot.

Netherlands vs. Morocco

Date & Time: Monday, June 29 | 9 p.m. ETLocation: MonterreyTV: FoxOdds: Netherlands -188

The Dutch have reached three World Cup finals but never claimed the trophy. Their current squad aims to rewrite that history. While not among the top favorites, the Netherlands sits comfortably in the top 10 odds to win.

The first hurdle is Morocco, a spirited side coming off a semifinal run four years ago. The Atlas Lions finished second in their group on goal difference behind Brazil and bring fierce determination into this matchup.

This could be the closest contest of the day and might deliver high drama on the field. Outside the stadium, expect a sea of orange as the Oranje Army descends on Monterrey to support their team.
