Worthing Strengthen Attack with Jordan Young Signing

Worthing have moved to sharpen their attacking edge with the capture of striker Jordan Young from National League South rivals Torquay United for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old arrives with a proven record at this level. Since joining Torquay from Yeovil Town in October 2024, Young has hit 35 goals in 88 appearances, a return that quickly made him a key figure at Plainmoor and one of the division’s most dangerous forwards.

“Jordan has great dead-ball delivery and can score and assists goals from out of nowhere, so he's going to be a really important player for us,” he told the club’s website, underlining the threat Young offers from both set-pieces and open play.

Torquay, meanwhile, have protected their longer-term interests. The club confirmed that the agreement “also ensures that United will retain a significant financial interest in any future transfer”, a clause that keeps them tied to Young’s next move even as he pulls on Worthing colours.

A prolific forward, a manager who clearly trusts his talent, and a selling club still invested in his rise – Young’s next chapter now belongs to Worthing.
