The Swede is young, technical and ambitious, and he is not short of suitors: Nottingham Forest are also circling, sensing an opportunity to add creativity and resale value in one move.

In west London, Fulham are targeting a different profile. They are weighing up a move for Southampton’s Northern Ireland midfielder Shea Charles. Saints value him at £30m, a price that reflects both his potential and his importance on the south coast.
