Barcelona Scouts Track 15-Year-Old Norwegian Striker Breaking Records

Barcelona has intensified its pursuit of emerging attacking prospects by sending scouts to observe 15-year-old Norwegian striker Gabriel Rajkovic. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan club’s representatives recently attended his matches as he continues to impress at a senior level with Valerenga.

Record-Breaking Debut and Early Senior Goals

Rajkovic has quickly made his mark in Norway’s top tier, already netting twice for Valerenga's first team. His swift rise has captured attention from top European clubs, including Barcelona, who are closely monitoring his progress.

The teenager became the youngest scorer in Eliteserien history on August 8, when he scored against Bodø/Glimt at just 15 years, five months, and 15 days old. Although Valerenga lost 2-1 that day, Rajkovic’s goal secured his name in Norwegian football records.

Comparisons with Erling Haaland

Many have drawn parallels between Rajkovic and former Molde striker Erling Haaland, particularly because Rajkovic reached this milestone much earlier. Haaland was 17 years and 16 days old when he scored his first senior goal, whereas Rajkovic did it two years younger.

Despite being born in 2011, Rajkovic has already played 14 senior matches, providing a broad view of his capabilities against experienced players.

Interest from Premier League Clubs

Besides Barcelona, English giants like Arsenal and Chelsea are also tracking Rajkovic. Yet, due to post-Brexit regulations, these clubs cannot sign him until he reaches adulthood. In contrast, Barcelona could potentially secure the young striker once he turns 16, thanks to his EU citizenship.
