He explained how, as a young player, he would calculate their age difference to see if they could ever share the pitch. "It might sound silly," Fernandez said, "but I really did it. I used to dream that we would wear the Argentina shirt together, even just once... and luckily you came back."

This dream became reality in Qatar, where Fernandez described their time together: "Life ended up being far more beautiful than that boy could imagine. I didn’t just get to play with you, but we shared training camps, dressing rooms, conversations, embraces, tough moments, wonderful moments, and we became world champions together."

Beyond his skills on the pitch, Fernandez praised Messi's humility and leadership off it. "I will always be grateful for the way you treated me from the moment I arrived," he said. Looking forward, Fernandez admitted it would be hard to imagine the next national team camp without Messi’s presence. "To walk onto the pitch and not see you wearing the number 10 shirt feels impossible," he added.
