Goodman Mosele Joins Chippa United: A New Chapter Begins

Goodman Mosele’s career has taken a sharp turn, and it happened in the space of a late, decisive phone call.

Chippa United have stepped in to sign the midfielder on a permanent deal, snatching him away just as a season-long loan move to Durban City seemed to be lining up. What looked like a temporary reset has become a full-blown restart.

For Mosele, it closes the chapter on his time with Orlando Pirates. He arrived at the Buccaneers with promise and flashes of real quality, but never quite managed to lock down a regular place in a crowded midfield. Loans came, opportunities flickered, and then faded. Now comes the clean break.

Chippa moved with intent. While Durban City waited on a loan agreement, the Chilli Boys pushed for commitment, persuading the 26-year-old to tie his long-term future to the Eastern Cape side instead. A short-term fix turned into a long-term bet.

The club confirmed the deal on Thursday with a poetic flourish on social media: “The River has found its course. Now it leads the way.”

For Mosele, that course now runs through Gqeberha — and there will be no hiding place if he wants to prove he belongs at the heart of a Premier Division midfield.
