Illan Meslier, the goalkeeper who joined Arsenal this summer from Leeds United, is reportedly being targeted by French side Marseille. Despite arriving in July, Meslier has featured for only 45 minutes under Mikel Arteta, and a quick exit could be on the cards.

Marseille's Goalkeeper Search

The French club is looking to replace Geronimo Rulli, who recently moved to Manchester City. According to Foot Mercato, Meslier is their main transfer target before the window closes, aiming to secure a reliable shot-stopper for the season ahead.

Arteta's Squad Reshaping

Arsenal has been busy strengthening after winning the Premier League and finishing runners-up to PSG in the Champions League final last season. They spent £75 million on Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes to fill the gap left by Christian Norgaard.

Yet, the goalkeeping situation remains unsettled. Meslier currently ranks third behind David Raya and Kepa Arrizabalaga. Though signed as quality cover, his lack of clear first-team opportunities may push him to consider a move.
