According to Bild football chief Christian Falk, the Bayern Munich centre-back features on United’s shortlist as the club weigh up reinforcements at the heart of their back line. United’s interest is real, but they are not alone, and not leading.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Juventus are out in front and that the 29-year-old has already given the green light to a move to Turin, where a reunion with former Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti awaits.
