Leny Yoro Receives First Senior France Call-Up After Ibrahima Konaté Withdrawal

Manchester United's young centre-back Leny Yoro, 20, has been summoned to the senior France national team by manager Zinédine Zidane. This announcement came late as the French Football Association revealed the news following the withdrawal of Real Madrid's Ibrahima Konaté due to a minor right knee sprain.

Yoro, who previously played for Lille OSC, earns his first senior call-up replacing Konaté in Zidane's squad. Before this, he was already training at France's Clairefontaine camp, having been invited by the U21 coach Gérald Baticle.

Opportunity to Shine in Nations League

The defender will have the chance to prove himself in Zidane's initial four Nations League matches, set against Turkey, Belgium, and Italy. His selection makes him the seventh player to receive a maiden senior call-up under Zidane, joining names like Guillaume Restes, Jean Butez, Andy Diouf, Jérémy Jacquet, Lucas Da Cunha, and Estéban Lepaul.
