The Argentine forward has reached an agreement in principle to purchase 100 percent of the club's shares, marking another step in his expanding business ventures within Spanish football.

Agreement Awaits Official Approval

According to reports from Marca, Messi is set to acquire the entire ownership of the Alicante-based team once the due diligence process wraps up. The deal now depends on formal approval by Spain's Higher Sports Council (CSD), expected in the coming days. This move signals Messi’s increasing influence beyond the pitch, particularly as he considers an eventual return to Catalonia.

Ownership History and Competitive Context

Before this potential transfer, CD Eldense was owned by an international investment group led by Juan Carlos Trujillo, who took control in October 2025 after purchasing from Pascual Perez. There was also an earlier bid of €12 million from Argentine investor Ricardo Pini, but Messi’s entry altered the course of negotiations significantly.
