Liverpool Close in on Ibrahim Mbaye and Bradley Barcola Deals from PSG

Liverpool have reportedly reached personal terms with Ibrahim Mbaye, a promising winger from Paris Saint-Germain, as they push forward with their summer transfer plans. The Reds are targeting a double signing from the French champions, also eyeing Bradley Barcola.

Mbaye Set for Five-Year Contract at Anfield

The 18-year-old Senegalese talent has agreed on financial terms for a five-year deal, according to Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport. Head coach Andoni Iraola views Mbaye as a key addition to inject speed and youth into Liverpool's attack after the earlier signing of Victor Munoz from Osasuna.

Mbaye attracted interest from Bayer Leverkusen but prefers a move to the Premier League. Last season, he played 29 times under Luis Enrique, scoring three goals. However, his minutes were limited behind Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Liverpool Increases Offer for Barcola to €135 Million

While progressing quickly with Mbaye, Liverpool has upped their bid for Barcola to €135 million. The 23-year-old French international has long been a target for the club. This improved offer indicates Liverpool’s willingness to meet PSG's valuation despite previously cautious spending, especially after breaking the club record with Alexander Isak's £125 million transfer last summer.

The arrival of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos into the club's ownership has shifted the financial stance, allowing for bolder moves in the market. Liverpool now await PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s final response, aiming to finalize one of the window’s most high-profile deals.

PSG Manager Luis Enrique Avoids Comments on Transfers

PSG boss Luis Enrique has kept quiet about Mbaye and Barcola’s futures. Both players were left out of the squad that lost to Lens in the Trophees des Champions, despite being unused substitutes days before in the UEFA Super Cup win over Aston Villa.

"I will speak about the transfer window when it is finished," Enrique told reporters before leaving the press conference abruptly.

PSG Undergoes Squad Changes Amid Liverpool Interest

The potential exits of Mbaye and Barcola come as PSG revamps its squad, securing younger talents like Ferran Torres from Barcelona and Mika Godts from Ajax. Liverpool sees this transition as a chance to strengthen, especially following Mohamed Salah’s departure.
