Liverpool Revive Interest in Khéphren Thuram as Juventus Open Sale
Liverpool’s long-running interest in Khéphren Thuram has sparked back into life, with the Premier League club again circling the Juventus midfielder, according to Corriere dello Sport.
This is not a new name for Anfield. During Jürgen Klopp’s time in charge, Liverpool were serious contenders to bring the French international to Merseyside while he was still at OGC Nice. At one stage, they appeared well placed to land him. The profile fit, the need was clear, the admiration obvious.
Then the trail went cold. Thuram chose Turin, Liverpool rebuilt their midfield in other ways, and the move many expected never arrived. The reasons were never fully explained, only the outcome: no flight to Liverpool, no unveiling at Anfield.
Now the story has flickered back into focus.
Juventus ready to listen
Juventus are increasingly likely to approve a sale this summer, and that has drawn more than one English suitor to the table. Liverpool are back in the frame, but they are not alone.
Manchester United have registered their interest. Nottingham Forest are also in the conversation. All three clubs see an opportunity if Juventus decide the time is right to cash in on the 25-year-old.
For Liverpool, it is a chance to revisit a target they once viewed as a central piece of their midfield evolution. For Thuram, it could be the Premier League move that slipped away the first time.
The question now is simple: who moves fastest, and who convinces Juventus – and Thuram – that this is the summer to finally cross the Channel?
