Luis Diaz Praises Harry Kane as Favorite for 2026 Ballon d’Or

Luis Diaz, Bayern Munich winger, has expressed strong confidence that his teammate Harry Kane will claim the 2026 Ballon d’Or. The Colombian forward praised Kane’s outstanding all-around performance after their recent DFB-Pokal match helped secure a win for the Bundesliga champions.

Kane’s case for football’s top individual prize is strong. In the last season, he netted 73 goals and assisted eight times across 65 appearances for club and country. This included six goals at the 2026 World Cup, where England finished third. Kane’s total is the second-highest single-season tally since 2000, behind only Lionel Messi’s 82 goals in 2011-12.

"His mentality is incredible," Diaz said. "He’s one of the main contenders to win the Ballon d’Or. I hope he lifts it so we can all celebrate with him."
