Tottenham Negotiates Double Deal for Savinho and Marmoush
Tottenham Hotspur are in negotiations with Manchester City over a double move for forwards Savinho and Omar Marmoush, with the London club pushing to reshape their attack before the new season.
Discussions between the clubs are ongoing, but no fee has been agreed for either player.
Savinho, 22, has been on Spurs’ radar since 2025. The Brazilian winger arrived at City in 2024 for £30m, yet never truly broke through, starting only seven Premier League games last season. After a year on the fringes, he is now looking for a way out.
On the opposite flank, Marmoush is in a similar position. The 27-year-old Egyptian joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2025 for £59m, but slipped down Pep Guardiola’s pecking order during the 2025-26 campaign. He finished the season with eight goals in 36 appearances across all competitions, a modest return for a major outlay and a player once tipped to become a central figure in City’s attack.
City are prepared to cash in on both, but their exact asking prices remain unclear. What is not in doubt is their stance: they expect to make a significant profit on each deal.
De Zerbi’s attacking rebuild
For Tottenham, the chase is driven by urgency as much as opportunity. Roberto de Zerbi has already overseen a major midfield overhaul, spending £185m on Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali, but knows his front line needs surgery.
Spurs limped to a 17th-place finish last season, scoring only 48 league goals. The lack of cutting edge haunted them from August to May. De Zerbi wants pace, direct running and goals; Savinho and Marmoush have been identified as players who can inject exactly that.
The Italian’s rebuild, though, has financial limits. Tottenham also retain an interest in Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo, yet there is real doubt over whether they can realistically fund a move for the Dutchman as well as complete deals for both City forwards.
City’s summer churn
At the other end of the table, City are reshaping too. The champions have already moved several players on this summer, including Rodri, Tijjani Reijnders and James Trafford, as they refresh a squad that has dominated English football but now shows signs of transition.
Savinho and Marmoush could be the next to go, if Tottenham are willing – and able – to meet City’s valuation.
The clock is ticking. Spurs begin their Premier League campaign away at Brentford on Saturday, while City kick off at home to Bournemouth on Sunday. Whether Savinho and Marmoush line up in sky blue, start packing for north London, or remain stuck in limbo may tell us plenty about the direction of both clubs this season.
