Ajax Fans Demand Abdellah Ouazane After Gloukh's Poor Performance

In Amsterdam, the scoreboard may say one thing. The stands tell another story entirely.

Ajax and PSV went toe to toe in an even first half, but every misplaced touch from Oscar Gloukh drew a fresh wave of irritation from the home crowd. Social media filled quickly with blunt verdicts from Ajax supporters. Calls of “Take Gloukh off now” captured the mood. Others went harder, labelling his display “truly disgraceful” and even branding him “one of the worst players I have seen at Ajax.”

When a performance dips, the crowd doesn’t just turn on the player; it looks for an alternative. Right now, that alternative has a name.

Abdellah Ouazane, the 17-year-old who has impressed in recent weeks, is the player many want to see. “Why isn’t Ouazane playing? He is five times the player Gloukh is, surely,” wrote one fan. Another pushed the same demand with less subtlety: “Gloukh off for a quick shower and bring Ouazane on.”

The match itself may still be finely balanced. Gloukh’s place in this Ajax side no longer feels the same.
