Al-Nassr Depleted Squad Faces Al-Khaleej Challenge

According to Saudi daily Arriyadiyah, Australian head coach Ange Postecoglou has left French winger Kingsley Coman, Ayman Yahya and Abdulrahman Ghareeb out of the squad for the clash with Al-Khaleej.

Coman ruled out as staff take no chances

Coman’s absence is the headline. He is struggling with pain in his hamstring, and the medical staff have advised against any risk that could worsen the problem. Postecoglou has accepted that call, removing him from contention for the trip to Al-Khaleej.

The plan is clear: protect the player now to avoid a longer lay-off.

Coman will undergo further medical tests after the Al-Khaleej match to assess whether he can feature in the continental showdown with Al-Ain of the UAE. That game, set for Tuesday at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium, looms large in Al-Nassr’s calendar, and the staff are eager to have him back if the scans show he is ready.

Yahya and Ghareeb add to selection headache

The injury list does not end there.

Ayman Yahya is also out, sidelined by an adductor muscle injury. His problem rules him out of both the Al-Khaleej fixture and the upcoming Al-Ain encounter, depriving Postecoglou of another attacking option across two crucial games.

Abdulrahman Ghareeb joins them in the stands. He is dealing with a metatarsal injury and will not be involved against Al-Khaleej either, leaving Al-Nassr’s frontline noticeably thinned.

Postecoglou must now juggle a depleted squad, reshaping his attacking structure while trying to maintain the intensity and cutting edge that have defined Al-Nassr’s start to the season.

Al-Nassr chase leaders, Al-Khaleej fight to escape trouble

The stakes are clear.

Al-Nassr have opened the campaign at a blistering pace, collecting 15 points from their first six matches. Five wins, one defeat – that lone setback a 2-1 loss to Al-Ittihad – have pushed them into fourth place in the Saudi Roshn League table.

They want more. The mission on Saturday is simple: keep the pressure on the teams above them.

Al-Khaleej, by contrast, are trying to stop the slide before it becomes a crisis. With only 4 points from their early fixtures, they sit thirteenth and badly need a result to change the tone of their season.

So Al-Nassr arrive weakened, but dangerous. Al-Khaleej arrive under pressure, but at home.
