Barcelona have locked in their leadership group for the 2026-27 season – and Hansi Flick’s fingerprints are all over it.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Raphinha has been confirmed as first captain, with Pedri installed as his deputy. Both were personally chosen by Flick, who has wasted no time reshaping the hierarchy in a dressing room suddenly stripped of two of its loudest voices.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Ronald Araujo departed on loan this summer, ripping out the spine of Barcelona’s traditional leadership core. A void appeared. Flick moved quickly.
