Boro Near $7.5m Deal for USMNT Wingback Arfsten

Boro are closing on another statement signing from MLS, with Columbus Crew’s versatile star Arfsten set to travel to England in the coming days to finalize a move that could be worth up to $7.5 million.

The fee, according to sources, includes add-ons and bonuses, while Columbus have protected their long-term interests with a sell-on clause. It is a deal that underlines both Arfsten’s rise and Boro’s growing appetite for American talent.

Long-term target finally within reach

This is not a move hatched overnight. Boro tracked the 25-year-old defender-winger last summer and pushed hard, only to fall short. The interest never cooled. French side Toulouse also stepped in with a bid to sign him for 2025, but Boro stayed in the race and now stand on the brink of getting it done.
