Eli Junior Kroupi Nominated for Men's Young Talent of the Year

Eli Junior Kroupi’s breakout Bournemouth season has earned him a place on the global stage, with the forward nominated for the Men's Young Talent of the Year award ahead of the 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony.

The 20-year-old is one of only three Premier League players on the 10-man shortlist, joining Manchester City’s Ayyoub Bouaddi and Aston Villa’s Johan Manzambi in a group that showcases the most highly rated young footballers in the world.

Kroupi forced his way into the spotlight last season after making his Bournemouth debut in August 2025. From there, he barely looked back. He racked up 35 appearances in all competitions and struck 13 goals, rapidly becoming one of the most productive young forwards in the division.

The numbers underline just how sharp his rise has been. By the end of the 2025-26 campaign, Kroupi had scored more goals than any other teenager in their debut Premier League season, a landmark that pushed him firmly into the conversation among Europe’s elite prospects.

Right now, though, his progress is on pause. A foot injury suffered in pre-season forced him to undergo surgery, and he has yet to feature for Bournemouth this term. The club expect him to return to action around October or November, a timeline that would see him rejoin the campaign just as the schedule begins to tighten.

The Men's Young Talent of the Year prize will be one of the key honours handed out at the 70th Ballon d'Or ceremony in London on Monday, 26 October — a night where Kroupi’s name will sit alongside the game’s biggest stars, even as he works his way back towards full fitness on the south coast.
