Hansi Flick Confident in Lamine Yamal's Recovery

Hansi Flick has moved to calm any early-season anxiety around Lamine Yamal, insisting Barcelona are close to seeing the teenager back at his explosive best.

The 19-year-old has been under the microscope since the campaign kicked off, his form questioned after a subdued return from the serious hamstring injury he suffered in April. He barely flickered in the opener against Elche. Then came Athletic Bilbao – and with it, the first real signs that the old electricity is returning.

Yamal was sharper, braver, more like the winger who had lit up last season before his setback. For Flick, that upward curve is no coincidence as Barça prepare for Monday night’s trip to Rayo Vallecano.

Flick draws a line under the doubts

Facing the media ahead of the La Liga clash, the German coach cut off any talk of long-term concern.

He reminded everyone of the context: a teenager who went from a major injury into a World Cup, then straight back into the grind after a short break. The first match back may not have sparkled, but Flick’s priority was that Yamal started, worked, and pushed through the minutes.
