Jamal Musiala's Return to Training: Bayern's Cautious Approach

Jamal Musiala has taken a significant step towards a full return, but Bayern’s medical and coaching staff are refusing to cut corners.

According to Bild, the 23-year-old’s medication dosage was increased after he suffered two collapses in friendly matches, linked to brief neurological disturbances and short losses of consciousness. The incidents prompted a cautious response inside the club, and the message from the staff is clear: there will be no rush.

His workload is being carefully controlled, yet Monday offered a genuine lift. Musiala completed the full team training session in the afternoon, throwing himself into duels and staying on for the entire workout. Observers described the Germany international as looking in strong physical shape and firmly on the road back.

Parts of the session took place on a pitch shielded by a protective screen, with the rest moved to an adjacent, open pitch. Musiala handled both environments without issue, a detail that will not have gone unnoticed by the medical team.

For Vincent Kompany, the picture suddenly looks brighter. With Musiala back in full training alongside Serge Gnabry, Bild reports that the coach now has his entire squad available. No one is left in the treatment room. No one is working individually.

The next decision is not about numbers, though. It is about timing – and when Bayern feel ready to unleash Musiala in a competitive game again.
