Jim Goodwin Returns to Dundee United Dugout After Medical Absence

Jim Goodwin will return to the Dundee United dugout this weekend after a three-week medical absence that briefly halted his season on the touchline.

The 44-year-old was admitted to hospital at the end of August with an undisclosed condition and only returned home on 1 September. Now he is set to step back into full first-team duties at Tannadice, starting with pre-match media responsibilities on Friday ahead of Saturday’s Scottish Premiership meeting with St Mirren.

Goodwin has been away from the technical area since falling ill, watching on from the stands earlier this month as United drew with Falkirk, while assistant manager Lee Sharp directed matters from the sideline.

Sharp has steadied the team through a mixed run in the Premiership, recording one win, one defeat and one draw in the three league matches since Goodwin was taken ill.

With the manager back in place and St Mirren next on the schedule, Dundee United’s season resumes with its main voice restored on the touchline.
