Juventus vs Parma: New Attack Takes Center Stage

Juventus are back under the Allianz Stadium lights tonight, and the new-look attack is set to take centre stage.

Randal Kolo Muani and Jonathan David are both expected to start as Carlos Cuesta’s side host Parma at 20:45 CET [19:45 BST] in Turin, with the Bianconeri already juggling early-season injury problems.

Juventus reshuffle without Yildiz and McKennie

Kenan Yildiz and Weston McKennie are both ruled out, forcing Juventus into a tactical tweak behind their marquee striker. Khephren Thuram is not fully fit either and may not even make the squad, trimming Cuesta’s options in midfield.

According to Sky Sport and Gazzetta, Canada international David should start in a central role as an attacking midfielder, operating just behind Kolo Muani in a 4-2-3-1. Kerim Alajbegović is set to provide width from the left wing, adding legs and direct running to a front line built to stretch Parma’s back four.

Parma stick to their guns after opening setback

On the other side, Parma arrive in Turin with a point to prove after a 1-0 home defeat to Cagliari in their opening league match. Carlos Cuesta is not expected to abandon his principles or his system: Parma are again set up in a 4-3-3.

The visitors have almost a full squad to choose from. The only absentee is Hans Nicolussi Caviglia, the Juventus academy product who misses the chance to face his former club. His absence simplifies Cuesta’s midfield choices but removes an intriguing subplot from the evening.

There is, however, a boost. Sascha Britschgi returns from a one-game ban and is likely to slot straight back in as an attacking winger, offering pace and aggression from out wide. El Bilal Touré is set to lead the line as a lone striker, tasked with unsettling a Juventus defence that is still bedding in its new pieces.
