Real Madrid Squad Named for La Liga Clash at Malaga

José Mourinho has named his Real Madrid squad for Sunday’s La Liga trip to Malaga, and it comes with some notable absentees and a clear nod to the club’s youth ranks.

Aurélien Tchouaméni and Endrick miss out once again, each for different physical reasons, as Mourinho turns to the academy to complete his list. Mario Rivas, Sicetero and Alexis Ceria are all promoted from the youth setup and step into the matchday group.

Tchouaméni continues to struggle with persistent pain that has dogged him since returning from the post‑World Cup leave granted by the club. His season has barely started in earnest; he has only managed a few appearances with his team-mates and now drops out of contention yet again.

Endrick’s situation is different. The forward is following a specific programme tailored to keep him clear of physical issues across the entire campaign, so his omission is part of a longer-term plan rather than a sudden setback. At the back, shin problems have ruled out defender Raúl Asencio, trimming Mourinho’s defensive options.

They are not alone on the sidelines. Éder Militão, Ferland Mendy, Rodrygo and Thiago Pitarch are also unavailable for the clash, leaving the Real Madrid coach to juggle resources in several lines.

Even with the absences, the squad carries heavyweight names. Between the posts, Mourinho calls on Courtois, Lunin and Javi Navarro.

In defence, the options are Huijsen, Trent, Konaté, Cucurella, Carreras, Rüdiger, Dumfries and academy call-up Mario Rivas.

Midfield remains packed with quality: Bellingham, Camavinga, Valverde, Arda Güler, Bernardo Silva, along with youngsters Sicetero and Alexis Ceria.

With key figures missing and youth promoted into the fold, Madrid’s visit to Malaga suddenly feels less routine and more like an early test of the squad’s depth and Mourinho’s willingness to trust fresh legs under real pressure.
