Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez Officially Married After Private Ceremony
Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed he is now married to his long-time partner, Georgina Rodríguez. The Portuguese football star and the model exchanged vows in a private civil ceremony held on Tuesday in Cascais, Portugal.
The wedding marked exactly one year since they announced their engagement on Instagram in 2025. Only close family attended, including their five children.
Announcement and Celebration
Ronaldo shared an intimate photo on Instagram showing the couple holding hands with their wedding bands, captioning it simply as "C❤️G." This public confirmation came just days after rumors suggested they would marry at Funchal Cathedral, Ronaldo’s hometown, which had drawn thousands of fans to the church.
How They Met
The pair first crossed paths in 2016 when Rodríguez was working at a Gucci store in Madrid. In her Netflix documentary Soy Georgina (I am Georgina), she described how Ronaldo unexpectedly walked in as a VIP client along with his eldest son and friends, causing butterflies in her stomach.
She recalled staying late at work that day because of his visit. From then on, their relationship grew quickly, with Ronaldo often picking her up from work in his Bugatti while she arrived by bus, a contrast that amazed her coworkers.
Life Together
After their relationship blossomed, Georgina left her job due to the attention she received. She embraced family life, helping raise Ronaldo's three children from previous relationships: Cristiano Jr., Eva Maria, and Mateo. Together, Ronaldo and Georgina share two daughters, Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda.
The Wedding Wait
In the documentary, Ronaldo revealed he hadn’t proposed earlier because he was waiting for the right moment or what he called "the click." He said, "It could be in a year or six months or a month. I'm 1000 percent sure it will happen." His patience paid off with this week’s wedding.
Georgina mentioned that her friends frequently teased her about when they would get married, even joking with references to Jennifer Lopez’s song "The Ring." Now, their marriage is official.
